Well hello there,
I hope you have been keeping well. My apologies for being away for soooooo long, babies will do that to you! As many of you know, our beautiful toddler Theo is now 19 months old, so I am back to work. I am really excited about this new season and can’t wait to share it with you.
Just incase you missed him in the video, here’s what I have been up to over the last year and a half. This little monkey has kept me very busy ;) He is super cute, has endless energy and is the absolute joy of our lives…
So, What Is Surface Design?
Surface design is much fun and has so many elements to it. From the early stages of inspiration to making designs that turn into a product you can hold in your hand. The next time you walk into a shop or are perusing online, take a look at the artwork on the products and garments. From interior design to fashion, the world is full of art and it makes it a happier place!
Over the least few months I have been taking a course called Immersion, created and run by Bonnie Christine who is an artist and surface pattern designer. It has taught me how to design artwork for everything from fabric to stationary, homeware and so many more things!
In future posts, I’ll show you the process from start to finish, but for now, here are a few examples of some of my designs used for homeware.
These designs will soon be available to buy on Society 6 and Spoonflower, so watch this space!
Flash Sale Incoming
To celebrate returning to work (and it’s also Black Friday), next week I will be having a flash sale of some of my oil paintings and prints, so if you are interested in buying affordable artwork for Christmas gifts, now’s your chance :) More info to come on Instagram!
Thanks for reading and have a great week,
