My New Favourite Way To Paint Flowers
This weeks marks put to the test in a painting and supporting Agape International Mission
Morning morning,
I hope this newsletter finds you well wherever you are in the world.
I wanted to share some exciting news with you all. Over the last few months, I have been thinking about how I can use my artwork to support causes that I believe in.
Starting from today, I'll be dedicating 10% of the profits from my artwork to organisations tirelessly working to combat human trafficking.
Human trafficking is an injustice that affects millions globally, robbing individuals of their freedom and dignity. Every time you buy any of my artwork, you’ll not only be adding art to your space but also helping to fight for this cause. I’ll keep you updated with the organisations I am supporting so you can see what you have contributed to!
Agape International Mission (AIM)
The first organisation I am going to be supporting is AIM (Agape International Mission). AIM is a non-profit dedicated to combating child trafficking in Cambodia; they work with a SWAT team to rescue children from brothels and rehabilitate them, giving them medical care, skills, an education, and, when possible, reuniting them with their families. Since starting in 2014, they have rescued over 1600 survivors and assisted in the arrest of over 500 traffickers.
Check out their website if you want to see more of the incredible work they do!
Thank You
Last week I put some new work out into the world and for sale in my Etsy shop, thank you to everyone who bought these new babies! If you haven’t seen them, they can be found here in my Etsy shop :) I am busy creating the rest of the collection, so as soon as I have any updates, you’ll be the first to know ;)
Sketchbook Project - Using The Marks
In case you missed it, I am doing a sketchbook project at the moment, where I am exploring new ideas and techniques, all in a sketchbook. The first video Mark-Making With Ink & Found Objects, gave me some inspiration to use a few of my favourite marks in an actual painting. Here’s the process below, using watercolour, ink, a dip-pen, a flower stem, a wooden dowel and a flathead nail.
I hope you have a great week and thanks for all your support,
Lydia x
