New Artwork Has Landed - A Botanical Collection
A new botanical collection in the making, first few pieces for sale now in my Etsy shop
Hello and happy Wednesday,
Hope this finds you well and you had a great week so far.
Last week I mentioned that I had some new work to show you, well it’s finally here! I wanted to wait until I had some proofs back from the printer to see how the artwork had turned out, and I am happy to report it printed well and is ready for viewing and on sale in my Etsy shop :)
These Giclee prints start from £30 and are printed on high-quality watercolour paper at a professional printers. Read below to see how they were made!
Gelli Plate Printing
Gelli Plate printing is a relatively new discovery for me. I have been on a mission to find a way to create a grainy textured quality in my artwork to use as a background for painting botanicals on top of. I found myself in the rabbit warren of YouTube, learning about all the different types of print making. Gelli Plate printing is a great way of using acrylic paint to make textured layers which you can build on repeatedly, every single one turning out very differently. I love the way it is completely unique every time and unpredictable. I started making a few papers and I was particularly looking for a grainy vintage quality that could almost look like an old photo.

Botanicals
As I have been spending the last year drawing lots of wildflowers and tropical leaves, I wanted to find a way to create artwork that has both an abstract painting element and a botanical element. So this is the start of a new collection! I would love to know your thoughts on my new work and if there’s any botanicals you would like to see in the next part of the collection.
I hope you have a great week and thanks for reading,
